- Too + pridev — previše
- „Too“ znači „previše“ i kaže da postoji problem: „This jacket is too big for me.“ (Jakna mi je prevelika.), „The bus was too slow, so we walked.“ Not too = nije previše: „The soup wasn't too hot, so I ate it.“
- Pridev + enough — dovoljno
- Uz pridev enough stoji POSLE prideva: „Is the water warm enough?“ (Da li je voda dovoljno topla?), „Our dog is clever enough to open the door.“ Ne kaže se „enough warm“.
- Not … enough — nedovoljno
- „The bed isn't long enough.“ = Krevet nije dovoljno dugačak (prekratak je). Često znači isto što i too + suprotan pridev: „not long enough“ = „too short“.
- Enough + imenica
- Uz imenicu enough stoji ISPRED imenice: „We've got enough paint for the whole fence.“, „There isn't enough milk for everyone.“, „Is there enough room in the car?“
- Too much, too many
- Previše + imenica: too much uz imenice koje ne brojimo („too much noise“, „too much homework“), too many uz množinu („too many cars“, „too many questions“).
- Too … to, enough to, enough for
- „It's too dark to read.“, „Are you tall enough to reach the shelf?“, „Is this bag strong enough for all these books?“
- Very ili too?
- Very = vrlo, ali uspelo je: „The climb was very hard, but we got to the top.“ Too = previše, pa ne ide: „The climb was too hard, so we turned back.“
