Ponavljanje i proširenje: past continuous za radnju u toku i opis scene na početku priče, past simple za događaje; when, while i as (dok); just as (baš u trenutku kad); dve radnje u toku istovremeno; glagoli stanja (know, belong, seem, own) samo u past simple; razlika između What were you doing when …? i What did you do when …?

- Past continuous (was / were + -ing) — radnja koja je trajala: „At ten the guests were dancing in the garden.“ Past simple — događaj: „The electricity went off.“ Zajedno: „Dad was washing the dishes when the electricity went off.“
- Scena na početku priče
- Priča često počinje opisom u past continuous, a ono što se desi ide u past simple: „It was getting dark and the owls were calling. Suddenly, somebody knocked on the door.“
- As i just as
- as = dok (kao while): „As we were crossing the bridge, Ema dropped her hat.“ just as = baš u trenutku kad: „Just as I opened the umbrella, the rain stopped.“
- Glagoli stanja
- know, want, need, like, belong, seem, understand ne idu u continuous ni u prošlosti: „I didn't know her name.“ (ne „I wasn't knowing“), „The bike belonged to my uncle.“
- Dva pitanja, dva značenja
- „What were you doing when the storm started?“ = šta je bilo u toku (I was reading). „What did you do when the storm started?“ = šta je usledilo (I closed the windows).
- Dve radnje u toku
- „While Grandma was planting tomatoes, Grandpa was building a little bench.“ — obe traju u isto vreme, obe su u past continuous.

Pročitaj zadatak, pa izaberi tačan odgovor ili upiši reč (rečenicu). Pazi na pravopis. Računa se šta pogodiš iz prvog pokušaja.
Upiši glagol u past simple ili past continuous: „As Grandma ___ the cake into the oven, the cat jumped onto the table.“ (put)
Pročitaj: „It was a quiet winter evening. Snow was falling and Grandpa was doing a crossword in the kitchen. Suddenly, the dog started barking. Grandpa opened the door and saw a small fox in the garden.“ Šta je deda radio kad je pas počeo da laje?
Dopuni jednom rečju: „I ___ a shortcut, so I showed them the way.“ (know)
U kojoj rečenici je greška?
Spoji u jednu rečenicu sa when: „I was taking a shower.“ + „The water went cold.“
