- Above i below
- „Above“ = iznad, više od nečega (obično ne dodiruje): „There's a mirror above the sink.“ „Below“ = niže od nečega: „The flat below ours is empty.“ Razlika: under = direktno ispod (under the bed), a below = niže, ne mora direktno.
- At — na jednom mestu
- „At“ kažemo za mesto kao tačku ili za mesto gde nešto radimo: at the door, at the window, at the bus stop, at school, at home, at work: „Your friend is at the gate.“, „My parents are at the theatre tonight.“
- In, on ili at?
- in — unutar prostora: in the kitchen, in the box, in Niš, in the car, in a taxi. on — na površini, uz sprat i uz javni prevoz: on the floor, on the second floor, on the bus, on the train. at — tačka ili mesto aktivnosti: at the station, at the cinema. Pazi: „u autobusu“ = on the bus.
- Izrazi za mesto
- in the corner (u uglu), in the middle (u sredini), at the end (na kraju), at the top (na vrhu), at the bottom (na dnu), on the left / on the right (levo / desno): „There's a plant in the corner of the classroom.“
- Inside i outside
- „Inside“ = unutra, „outside“ = napolju: „It's raining — the children are playing inside.“, „Wait for me outside the shop.“
