- „We were rehearsing when the caretaker came in.“ (radnja u toku i prekid) — „Last spring we played at the town festival.“ (završeno).
- Present perfect ili past simple
- „We've just recorded our first song!“ (upravo, važno je sada) — „We recorded it on Monday.“ (kaže se kada: past simple).
- Used to ili past simple
- „Our keyboard player used to take ballet lessons.“ (dugo, a sada više ne) — „She passed her first ballet exam in 2021.“ (jedan događaj).
- Will, going to ili present continuous
- „We're playing at the school party on Friday.“ (dogovor) — „We're going to make a video.“ (plan) — „I think it'll be fun!“ (mišljenje).
- Aktiv ili pasiv
- „My sister painted our poster.“ (ko je uradio) — „Our poster was painted by my sister.“ (važno je šta je urađeno).
